JKA Australia is a non-profit organisation affiliated with the Japan Karate Association (JKA) in Japan, one of the world’s oldest and most respected Shotokan Karate organisations. With karate clubs and branches located across Australia, students can find a welcoming training environment close to home.
Learn Traditional JKA Karate Shotokan
JKA Karate Shotokan is more than a martial art. It is a traditional discipline that develops physical strength, fitness, coordination, agility, concentration and self-confidence. Through regular training, students learn practical karate techniques while developing important personal qualities such as courage, courtesy, integrity, humility and self-control.
JKA/WF Australia follows the original Shotokan Karate style associated with Gichin Funakoshi, the founder of modern Karate. Training focuses on building strong fundamentals, disciplined movement and a deeper understanding of traditional Karate.
Whether you are completely new to martial arts or an experienced karate practitioner, Shotokan Karate provides an opportunity to challenge yourself, improve your skills and work towards meaningful personal goals.
Karate Australia with Experienced Instruction
JKA Australia provides administrative and technical direction for its affiliated clubs throughout Australia. The organisation is led by Chief Instructor Sensei Jason Naylor, 7th Dan JKA, who has been teaching Karate since 1986 and has travelled extensively to Japan to continue developing his knowledge and skills.
His long-standing experience contributes to the growth and development of JKA Karate Australia, helping students and instructors maintain a strong connection with traditional Japanese Karate.
